The Mountain View Parks and Recreation Commission, acting as the Urban Forestry Board, heard two heritage tree removal appeals. The 500 West Middlefield redwood appeal was denied (upholding staff's decision to preserve the tree), while the 961 Ikeler appeal was continued to a future date because the appellant was absent. The board also received Canopy's annual report on tree planting and education, an update on the invasive shot hole borer pest and unexplained tree die-off, and the start of the fiscal year 2026-27 operating budget presentation.
