The Council Transportation Committee reviewed the public draft of Mountain View's Active Transportation Plan, hearing a staff/consultant presentation on the plan's four chapters, guiding principles, community engagement (600+ comments), 23 priority projects, and phased implementation (resurfacing vs. reconstruction) and funding options. Public commenters and committee members praised the plan's readability and outreach while requesting clearer definitions of protected bike lanes, adoption of NACTO standards, stronger pedestrian/shade/equity emphasis, bike boulevards, and integration with other city plans. Staff will incorporate comments and bring a final plan back to the BPAC and CTC in August before council adoption in September.
